Bralettes & seamless — the wire-free shelf, built without side-seam twist
Bralettes and seamless bras are wireless intimates built from knit, lace or bonded fabrics where support comes from structure rather than underwire. This is the fastest-growing womenswear category in US and EU boutiques, and it fails in production on two details: knit recovery and edge finish. Both are handled in-line here.
Construction options
What we build in this program
- Seamless (circular knit): 15D–40D nylon/spandex with integrated foam cup, in 14G to 22G gauges.
- Bonded: laser-cut edges with adhesive tape, no stitched hem, clean under knitwear.
- Rib & jersey knit: cotton-modal and rib elastane bralettes with lettuce or coverstitch edges.
- Lace bralette: unlined stretch lace with elasticated neckline and optional thin pad pocket.
- Support levels: thin fleece-lined, 3–6 mm moulded pad, removable inserts, wide underband with or without boning, racer and full-support backs.

Bralette returns are usually about band roll and pad shift, not style. Sample two sizes at the ends of your run and we will send the fit comment sheet with them so you can see how the block behaves.

Questions buyers ask about bralettes
What is the difference between seamless and bonded?
Seamless pieces are knitted in one piece on a circular machine — no side seam, cup shape created by knit structure and integrated foam; this needs a higher MOQ (500 pcs) because yarn must be stocked and the machine gauged. Bonded styles are cut from fabric and welded with adhesive tape instead of stitched hems, giving more fabric choice at a lower MOQ.
Can bralettes have removable pads and a support band?
Yes: thin fleece-lined cups, 3–6 mm moulded pads, removable inserts, underband with or without boning, and wide racer or full-support backs. For bands above 40 we add power mesh and wider straps so the block still supports the size.
How do you control shrinkage and edge curl on knits?
Knit fabric is relaxed for 24 hours before cutting and tested against the approved strike-off, holding shrinkage within ±3%. Bonded edges are pull-tested, and every size run is checked after three wash cycles before packing approval — see Quality & Compliance.
